Introducing de minimis

Margin VAT is the part of UK tax that everyone agrees is fiddly and almost nobody writes about. We started onesixth because a six-figure margin scheme miscalculation shouldn't hinge on a spreadsheet someone inherited in 2014.

de minimis is the place we'll put the writing that doesn't fit in product release notes. Expect:

• Short explainers on TOMS, motor trade, global accounting, partial exemption.
• Notes on what HMRC has actually said vs. what people think HMRC has said.
• The occasional opinion about Xero, FreeAgent, QBO and Sage UI choices.

No newsletters about discounts. No webinars. Just the writing.

Why "de minimis"?

Because the best tax writing concerns itself with the small things — the rounding, the apportionment, the £1,875 limit — that decide whether a return is right or wrong.
